«The very fabric of reality is tearing at the seams!»
Dream Eater is the final confrontation available to players using the Thorium Mod and poses an immense threat to the player. It appears after all three former bosses are defeated. The background pulses slowly with a rainbow color while this entity Dream Eater is alive, and its appearance is notified with the status message, «The very fabric of reality is tearing at the seams!»
While Dream Eater is alive, its exclusive will play. This track does not have an accompanying Music Box, making the fight the only way to hear this particular music.
Behavior
Dream Eater will spawn into battle right after the last remaining Primordial has been defeated. It will remain stationary and mostly invulnerable as it summons three cosmetic rings of Primordial energies (3 Impending Dreads, 5 Unstable Angers, and 8 Inner Despairs) before beginning its attack.
- Dream Eater will rapidly dash towards the players position, attempting to ram into them. It will also rapidly fire a triple-shot of purple Lucid Energy bolts at them.
- Every five shots, Dream Eater will briefly stop in place before charging up and releasing a special attack. The energy pouring into Dream Eater will give a clue as to which attack is chosen.
- Dream Eater channels the essence of Slag Fury, releasing a ring of 20 fast homing lucid energy balls.
- Dream Eater channels the essence of Aquaius, summoning 4 Lucid Bubbles and 8 horizontal typhoon pairs to attack the player.
- Dream Eater channels the essence of Omnicide, bringing down a telegraphed rain of lucid blasts onto the player’s position.
- Dream Eater charges power and releases a dense ring of Lucid Miasma that lingers and slowly travels outwards from its original position.
- Dream Eater charges up, then teleports near the player and circles them counterclockwise while firing 5-shot spreads of purple bolts, 11 times. The initial location that Dream Eater will teleport to is denoted by a cloud of orange particles.

Class Background[]
Death in Terraria is the only major setback a player can encounter, and occurs after a player has made multiple mistakes in movement or judgment. In vanilla, these mistakes can only be remedied in a handful of limited ways such as Healing Potions, the Nurse, enemy-dropped hearts, and far later into the game, life stealing equipment. As a healer, however, the player has the unique ability to «undo» these mistakes themselves at will and contribute towards a team that may lack skill or defensive equipment.
This ability, however, comes with a price. A majority of healer equipment decreases the effective damage of melee, ranged, magic, summoning, throwing and symphonic weapons. These damage reductions heavily impact the DPS potential of the player, and serve to balance out the extremely potent ability to heal and protect allies. However, healers have their own set of weapons that are empowered by their equipment and serve as a means of defending themselves, should they ever feel it in their best interest to strike back at enemies.
These weapons have their own unique damage type, known as ‘radiant damage’, and typically have a secondary effect associated with healing or supporting allies. In the case of a weapon like the Pill, its left click allows the player to damage enemies and its right click allows them to temporarily increase the life recovery of allies. Most, if not all, radiant weapons have a similar ability to support allies while simultaneously being able to damage enemies.

Restoring Inspiration[]
Inspiration regenerates on its own when not in use, until the player’s current maximum is reached. The rate at which it regenerates picks up speed when not in use, making it more efficient to burn all of your inspiration at once and then wait for a full recovery. This down time can be used to focus on dodging attacks and switching Bard weapons for other empowerments that may be best suited for the situation. Player movement does not impede the regeneration process allowing for constant movement with no setbacks.
There are also several items that can be used to restore inspiration:
Item | Notes |
---|---|
Inspiration Note (cyan) | Cyan inspiration notes restore 3 inspiration instantly when collected and cannot be placed in the inventory. They can only be obtained from wired Music Note Statues. |
Inspiration Note (green) | Green inspiration notes restore 5 inspiration instantly when collected and cannot be placed in the inventory. They are dropped by all enemies. |
Inspiration Note (red) | Red inspiration notes restore 10 inspiration instantly when collected and cannot be placed in the inventory. They only appear when the Noble armor set is worn. |
Inspiration Note (yellow) | Yellow inspiration notes restore 8 inspiration instantly and provide a random level I empowerment to all nearby players when collected and cannot be placed in the inventory. They only appear when the Rhapsodist armor is worn. |
Creativity Potion | Doubles the chance for inspiration notes to appear when used. |
Inspirational Reach Potion | Increases the pickup range for inspiration notes when used. |
