Иронично, но если бы не Россия и все, что с ней в игре связано, это были бы вполне стандартные для СoD 7-8 часов зрелищных перестрелок с парой эффектных сцен и без особых геймплейных изысков.

Например, тут даже не было бы такого харизматичного злодея. Барков правда хорош, особенно когда в редких диалогах переходит с ломаного английского на русский. Одна из мощнейших сцен — та самая, с девочкой и солдатом. Самый любопытный в плане архитектуры уровень — угадали, Питер, и то по субъективным причинам. Но в целом, таким и должен быть перезапуск Modern Warfare — с новой порцией спецэффектов и так называемого трагического контента, и заделом на следующую часть — где как и всегда, маячит Третья мировая. И со скандалом. И не одним.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare вышла в России 25 октября на PC и Xbox One. Версия для PS4 в продажу официально не поступала.

Biography

Born in Manchester, Simon Riley joined the Special Air Service and spent the majority of his career serving numerous short-term deployments and executing covert assignments in classified locations. He became an expert in clandestine tradecraft, focused on sabotage, ambushes, and infiltrations into denied areas and hazardous environments. Ghost concealed his identity under a hallmark skull figured mask to maintain anonymity in the field.

At one point, Ghost worked in the same unit as Mace.

Following the death of General Roman Barkov, Ghost was recruited by Captain John Price in the newly formed Task Force 141 where he became a commanding officer. Following the invasion of Verdansk by Al-Qatala on March 3rd, 2020, Riley was deployed in the city to assist the Armistice initiative against the terrorist organization supplied by Victor Zakhaev. During one of Armistice’s operations, Ghost helped the Arm-4 team infiltrating the occupied Verdansk airport to retrieve a nuclear core.

When Al-Qatala released toxic gas within Verdansk, Ghost discovered a chaotic situation where the operators of Armistice have turned against themselves and began targeting each other. He soon requested Price to send him reinforcements he could trust. Riley managed to escape the city and was deployed to a classified location where Price informed him that Zakhaev’s plan worked, with the Armistice now officially disbanded. Ghost was assisted during this operation by «Alex», who was sent by Price.

Price and Laswell discuss about the formation of the Task Force 141 with the recruitment of Kyle, now going by the nickname «Gaz», Johnny «Soap» MacTavish and Simon Riley. Laswell informs Price that Victor Zakhaev is attempting to take Barkov’s throne and that he was a big fan of Hadir’s actions.

Сценарий — типичный винегрет конфликтов с перемещениями по разным уголкам мира, в том числе и вымышленным. О них особый разговор — если с Урзыкстаном все более-менее ясно, то с уже легендарной Кастовией — мало что. Например, в одиночной кампании есть Санкт-Петербург, расположенный в России, а в мультиплеере — похожая на него карта St. Petrograd, только на этот раз в Кастовии. В общем, по географии к игре есть вопросы.

Multiplayer

Modern Warfare’s multiplayer mode features signature Call of Duty fast-paced and grounded combat while also introduces brand new game types and experiences from 2v2 Gunfight matches to 100+ players in Ground War. Ditching class-based combat from previous titles, the game aims to accommodate all play styles by providing more customization options to the players, featuring deep weapon augmentation in the Gunsmith and replacing Specialists with Operators. Modern Warfare is also the first game in the franchise to feature crossplay across consoles and PC.

On September 17th, 2019, Activision revealed that Post-launch gameplay content, including new multiplayer maps, new multiplayer modes as well as new Special Ops missions will be released simultaneously across all platforms.

Gunsmith

The Gunsmith is a feature in Create-A-Class introduced to Modern Warfare. It allows players to augment any weapon in a loadout with various customization options, including up to 60 attachments to pick for each weapon.

Gunfight

Gunfight is a new game mode introduced to Modern Warfare. Similar to the Face-Off mode from Modern Warfare 3, Gunfight puts players into a 2v2 match on small maps specifically designed for the mode. Each player is given the same loadout every 2 rounds with perks and killstreaks disabled. The first team to win 6 rounds wins the match.

2v2 Alpha

The 2v2 Alpha featuring Gunfight, exclusive to the Playstation 4 was announced during Gamescom Opening Live on August 19th, 2019. It began on Friday, August 23rd with an early release a day prior. The Alpha is available for free to all PS4 users; Playstation Plus membership is not required.

Open Beta

The Playstation 4 Exclusive Open Beta was scheduled from September 14th to 16th. Players who had pre-ordered the game could gain early access to the Beta 2 days prior to the Open Beta on September 12th.

The Open Beta for all platforms featuring cross-play functionality went from September 21st to 23rd. Xbox One and PC players who had pre-ordered the game gained early access to the Beta on September 19th while all PS4 players had access to the Beta.

Battle Pass

On October 17, 2019 it was announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would do away with the standard micro transactional systems that were added into prior games and would rather feature a two-state Battle Pass system similar to the prior «Operations» in prior games but, however feature a Premium Stream and a Free Stream of content. Within this new system, it is entirely possible to earn CODPoints through standard gameplay along with cosmetic items that do not affect gameplay.

Along with this, Any future weaponry added in will be entirely earned via gameplay and the «In-Game store» will only feature cosmetic items.

Еще одна особенность – во время боя внутриигровой диктор иногда сообщает, в какой точке на карте союзники увидели противника, а сам персонаж может крикнуть что-то вроде «ВРАГ!», когда в поле зрения оказывается вражеский игрок. Это весьма удобная штука, но карты нужно знать досконально, чтобы не путаться в поступающей информации

Последнее, на что я обратил внимание – возможность красиво убить противника. Если подобраться к нему вплотную сзади и зажать кнопку удара, то персонаж начнет выполнять красивую (и долгую) анимацию добивания

Классная, но, увы, бесполезная штука. 

В серию вернулись серии убийств и награды за них. Раньше, чтобы вызвать какой-нибудь беспилотный разведчик или жахнуть по карте ракетой, нужно было зарабатывать очки, которые давались за все подряд – за захват точек, за убийства, за ассисты и так далее. Теперь же серия вернулась к корням и пользоваться наградами можно только в том случае, если вы заработали убийство. Опять же, палка о двух концах – слабым игрокам теперь точно будет сложнее использовать помощь штаба, зато теперь она стала более ценной и полезной. 

Награды за серии убийств знакомы фанатам по прошлым частям – беспилотник, анти-беспилотник, автоматическая турель, вызов артобстрела (теперь обставлен по-другому – на цель нужно наводить лазерной указкой), различные вертолеты и так далее.

На высших уровнях доступны штурмовой самолет (фанаты Modern Warfare 2 – это тот самый «ВРАЖЕСКИЙ AC-130!») и «Джаггернаут», превращающий главного героя в неубиваемого танка с пулеметом. Кстати, тот самый белый фосфор, который вызвал столько шума – бесполезная фигня. Он просто накрывает локацию белым туманом, а в некоторых очагах бойцы получают небольшой урон и замедляются.

Операции выбираются в главном меню и обладают тем же функционалом, но выполнять их можно в производном порядке и у них нет «срока годности». За прохождение испытаний обоих типов дают бонусный опыт и уникальные скины для оружия. Здесь я заметил забавный прикол – если поставить на пушку уникальный скин, то она перестанет прокачиваться и засчитываться в испытаниях.

Изменять класс теперь можно не только между играми, но и прямо во время матча. Даже если вы только что подняли новый уровень на своем дробовике и открыли приклад – никто не мешает вам сразу же поставить его и сразу опробовать в бою.

ОС Android 12 вышла. Какие устройства получат апдейт?

На прошлой неделе состоялся релиз финальной версии ОС Android 12. Перечисляем, когда и на какие смартфоны придёт обновление.

Google Pixel

Традиционно первыми актуальную версию «зелёного робота» получат фирменные устройства Google. Обычно апдейт прилетал на аппараты Pixel в день выхода операционки. Но в этом году компании требуется больше времени на доработку специальной модификации Android 12 с эксклюзивными фишками для Pixel. Так что пока опубликован лишь исходный код AOSP-сборки системы.

Это позволяет вендорам уже сейчас начать разработку своих оболочек поверх ОС. В то же время, по словам Google, обновление по воздуху разойдётся на телефоны Pixel в ближайшие недели.

The co-op mode Special Ops returns from the original Modern Warfare series as an extension of Modern Warfare’s single-player campaign, where players join in the fight to stop and sever a global terror organization.

Survival Mode

Survival mode from Modern Warfare 3 also returns as an additional mode of Spec Ops with 3 maps available at launch. The mode is only available on PlayStation 4 until October 1, 2020. Locking the survival mode of Special Ops behind a long exclusivity period sparked outrage among the community, with many players canceling their pre-orders.

  ACC issues another containment protocol alert. The Containment Protocol Level is raised to 33%. An anonymous field operator claims the infestation has gone far deeper than initially realized. The ACC orders to not induce panic and to «remove all alarmist rhetoric».

  Vice Commander of Armistice issues another containment protocol alert. While the Containment Protocol Level is raised to 66%, the Vice Commander claims that everything is under control. An anonymous operator restates that an evacuation of Verdansk must be planned if the Central Command cares about Armistice.

• The infestation spreads to the Gora Dam. Contaminants able to infect humans in previously infested areas create «Corruption Zones», leaving the areas completely uninhabitable.[Canonical?]

Campaign

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a reboot of the Modern Warfare subseries that takes characters and themes from the original series and presents them in a modern light.Captain Price returns in this game’s campaign.

Modern Warfare is said to deliver an emotionally charged and intense campaign that shines a light on the changing nature of modern war. Fight alongside a diverse cast of international special forces, freedom fighters and Arab soldiers Working within the grey area of their rules of engagement in a number of heart-pounding covert operations set throughout iconic European cities and into the volatile expanses of the Middle East.

Locations include London, where a terrorist attack occurs at the start of the game, and the fictional country of Urzikstan. The plot is linear. Multiple characters are playable, each with a different perspective on the conflicts at hand.

The plot is designed with a lot of references to the original trilogy, indicating that the action happened in a similar alternative universe. At the end of the campaign, Price formed a new Task Force 141 with many of the original members. It was revealed that Price and MacMillan in this universe also attempted an assassination on Imran Zakhaev in Pripyat and that Kamarov again owed Price a favor for Beirut. Many in-jokes were preserved as well.
